Ideas for Wedding Themes You’ve Thought of and Some You Haven’t

Weddings are considered the most important celebration in any country. After all, it’s not just a one-day event, but just a welcome party to the rest of a couple’s life. That’s why it’s very important to make sure everyone who attends will remember this special occasion. With all the weddings one attends, it’s really hard to separate one from the other. This is why themed weddings are getting more and more popular. But even with the amount of wedding themes available, how do couples come up with a wedding theme ideas which might be perfect for them?

One way would be to start with what exactly you want to personalize. Some choose a more subtle approach; preferring to change just the decorations.  Wedding theme decorations can range from an icon, or recurring symbol that the couple can relate to. This can be an animal (doves are common and can be considered traditional than personalized), a tool that represents a common profession (stethoscopes for doctors), or even something taken from a favorite movie.

Colors are also a subtle way to personalize the occasion. Traditionally though, this has become more of a common thing, unless the color choice itself is a bit exotic. Commonly, color choices are pastel hues, so choosing a vivid color or color combination can make your wedding stand out.

But a sure way to make it memorable is to theme the whole affair. This sometimes includes going for a non-traditional program as well. Here are some suggestions:

Beach – A beach theme wedding can be a good way to have the attendees enjoy the event even after the wedding itself. This wedding theme itself is easy to organize, as most beach resorts will already have a package ready. From the program, up to the wedding reception theme, all you have to do is choose the set you would want. A good tip is to have it near sunset or sunrise depending on the resort’s orientation. A torch ceremony would be icing on the cake.

Garden – Garden weddings are the next popular choice. You can have it at home or at a private garden which you can rent. Most hotels will also have a small garden ready for these events. You can even have butterflies released during the wedding and have butterflies as a recurring icon on the decorations. Other options you can look into would be having this near dusk or in the evening so that the reception can be a candle-lit spectacle.

Forest – Forest themes would be similar to garden weddings in some ways, but the logistics for organizing them will be completely different. For one thing, if you will be organizing this yourself instead of having an inn or hotel that hosts these event, then you might want to avoid having this in the evening. Hotels or inns might have a clearing where they hold these which may be a more controlled environment. Still, the nature themed event will be a spectacle.

Royalty – A medieval styled wedding or a Victorian wedding can be tricky to pull off; as it relies on everyone having in costume for the event. Make sure you plan early for this one and an experienced organizer is recommended. They can give an air of authenticity to the event, especially when it comes to choosing costumes. Don’t go overboard though and keep the theme light. It is also easier to organize these with a smaller group of attendees.
