Ivory Wedding: How to Have an Ivory Themed Wedding

Wedding ivory is the new white when it comes to achieving an elegant look for that big day. Ivory has a softness in appearance that cannot be achieved by traditional white wedding wear and wedding gifts. Wedding ivory can come in the form of an ivory wedding dress, an ivory wedding veil, ivory satin wedding shoes and an even ivory wedding guest book. If there is something that you would likely see in white at a white wedding, you can get an ivory version of it for an ivory wedding.

Planning for an ivory wedding is, in many ways, similar to planning for a white wedding. Most of all, it is important that you maintain a theme of simplicity and elegance, otherwise you will create an unattractive visual atmosphere for you and the guests. This means that all ivory styles used at the wedding should be relatively minimalist and consistent across the board.

Different shades of ivory can add to the visual appeal of an ivory wedding. To achieve different shades, it is common to employ different fabrics on your ivory wedding items. These fabrics generally can have the same essential color, but they give the illusion of different shades. This is due to the fabrics having their own distinct texture, which in turn creates unique and distinctive shadow effects.

Be wary of mixing wedding ivory of different color tones. Some different tones can be used together in a complementary way. However, you should try this only if you have seen what the mix will look like for yourself. If you want to create a truly beautiful ivory wedding, it is probably best to stick to just one or two tones, and to be sure that the two tones will not create a clash when they are mixed together on the day of the wedding.

An ivory wedding is not an ivory wedding without an ivory wedding dress, so this is often the first thing that people look for when they start planning for the big day. Ivory wedding dresses are becoming increasingly popular at the expense of white wedding dresses, so you will have no trouble finding a dress that is perfect for the bride and the theme that you have in mind for the wedding.

To complement an ivory wedding dress, most brides have ivory wedding veil as well. The tradition of concealing the bride until she is married is still very popular, even among those who prefer non-traditional weddings. And even in the case of weddings in which that tradition is not upheld, it is most common for a bride to still wear a veil as an elegant accessory to her dress.

In order to make look of the bridesmaids match the look the look of the bride, it is useful to get ivory bridesmaid dresses as well. These dresses should be less elegant and visually appealing than the bride’s dress, but they should still retain the same basic style as the bride’s dress. Otherwise, a visual clash may be the result. Of course, it is not necessary to match an ivory wedding dress with ivory bridesmaid’s dresses. It is not uncommon for the bridesmaids to have dresses of a completely different color, such as red, blue or green. While this breaks from the ivory theme, it does not always create a clash, and it has the advantage of making the bride stand out even more from the crowd. You could all share in common ivory wedding flip flops for before the wedding, or even the reception.

The guests to the wedding should be advised in advance of the ivory theme. This will allow them to bring suitably styled gifts. While it is not so critically important that wedding gifts match the style of the wedding itself, knowing the wedding style can help many guests make a decision on what to get for the wedding. For example, guests who plan on buying bed sheets as a gift may not know which color to choose out of white or ivory. If they know that the wedding will have an ivory theme, they will know that the bride and groom prefer the look of ivory to white.

However, guests should not feel that they need to restrict themselves to ivory gifts for an ivory wedding, just as they should not restrict themselves to white gifts for a white wedding. The look of the gifts does not have a strong bearing on the look and feel of the wedding itself, so guests should feel free to buy whatever gift they think is most appropriate for the occasion.
