The “Seasonal” Wedding Theme Ideas

“I do.”

Ah, marriage.  This magical moment of pure bliss and romance culminates the long, cold days of solitude and represents the dawn of a new life as a loving couple.  The day lovers declare their endless love before God and man, as they thread through life with warm affection and unwavering loyalty.

Because of this once in a lifetime celebration of love, future husbands and wives try their best to arrange the perfect wedding.  It may be a small one, or it may be huge.  But surely, couples out there would want to spice up the celebration with their own unique wedding themes, ideas showing the special bond that they share with their loved one.

How about portraying the similar sweetness of chocolates?  Perhaps enlivening it with the soothing beauty of flowers in the outdoors will work? It could be anything that reminds them of their love for each other.  But for those lovebirds out there who are still dizzy looking for that special wedding, then may be the seasons can help you.

Spring, summer, fall and winter— the quarters of the year and also of life, can be perfect themes for that dream wedding of yours.

Spring marks rebirth and renewal, a perfect match to the idea of entering a new life.  When planning a ceremony that revolves on spring wedding themes, think about the season itself.  Which things that appear on spring do you like the most?  Is it the small packets of snow melting under the sun?  Or is it the small seeds and young flower buds which make their way into life?  Even the animals that celebrate that start of the season can serve as inspirations for your wedding.

One advantage of a spring wedding theme is that most gowns are just right to wear on a spring.  They are not large and bulky enough which will be too hot for a summer ceremony, and also lacks sleeves which on the other hand can be quite cold for a winter one.  For decorations, go for those which represent freshness and youth, like small fruits and not yet fully-bloomed wedding flowers.  For the colors, also aim for that refreshing feeling, like baby blue, pink and other light colors.  Green is also a good one, besides being a relaxing color for the eye, it fully represents the season of spring.

Summer weddings are a lot more common.  With June being called the wedding month, no wonder a lot of couples celebrate their love on this month.  A lot spend the wedding on beaches, with the shining sun matched by the cool breeze and ocean waves.  With the wedding located at such a warm or even searing hot setting, choose the gown and suits which provide comfort.  Or better yet, go for a Hawaiian theme!  Hawaiian is one of the best summer wedding themes.  Even under the blazing sun, you will still look and feel cool for the wedding!

Remember, summer is the season of bountiful blessings.  So be sure to adorn the place with the perfect symbols such as cornucopias filled with fruits and large amazing corals.  Speaking of corals, you can incorporate an under the sea motif for the place.  The menu can include salads and seafood complemented by watermelons and refreshing drinks.  Try returning to your childhood memories and bring to life the things that made your summers a wonderful experience.

With crisp, brown leaves falling, autumn arrives.  The season of fall is one of the most romantic wedding themes ever.  Just imagining the bride walking towards the aisle as she is being adorned with an amazing array of falling leaves would make a groom’s heart stop.  By lying perfectly between the hot and cold seasons, ceremonies with fall wedding themes despite having a tricky weather are blessed to witness the stunning look of nature.

If you think the autumn theme is the one for you and your loved one, aim for a luxurious and elegant air.  Use velvets brocades for decorations, while arranging, leaves, acorns, pumpkins and gourds to achieve the autumn effect.  Among the colors, chocolate brown is usually preferred as reflects best the change of season.  For the clothes, wear dresses with matching wraps which you can remove when the weather gets a bit warm or just let it remain in case it becomes a bit chilly.

Last but not the least, is a wedding tailored after the winter season.  Despite its reputation as a harsh, freezing time of the year, winter boasts a dazzling abundance of snow that gives this season a unique, dreamy aura.  Shower your wedding venue with things invoking an “icy” feeling, like diamonds, glass, and why not, ice!  If the weather is friendly enough, aim for an outdoor wedding that allows snow and snowflakes decorate the path towards the altar.  For the main color, white is the superb choice.  You can use flowers bearing striking colors like red, but be sure not to cover up much of the white.  It is after all, the color of the season.

Whatever theme you choose, it’s always the creativity of the couple that gives the uniqueness of the wedding.  Be sure to plan ahead, to avoid any hassles.  Have fun doing it, and do it together.  Because before you plan the house and the kids, the wedding should come first.

In addition to seasonal wedding themes, there are other kinds of theme such as the beach wedding theme and Western wedding theme.
