Purple is the color of nobility and royalty.  It is said to be to favorite color of the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra. Purple robes are the emblem of authority and rank.

Purple has been a popular color for weddings. The rich color compliments most skin tone and the color itself almost instantly exudes elegance and produces a classy ambiance.

When decorating, it is better to either pick a few touches and placing these accents in strategic places or layering the colors by using many different hues of the same color, rather than having one strong color all at the same time. What is important is having that palette to work with. After choosing the color family, using all the shade of that color family usually works magic for any place to be decorated.

Flowers are the best decorations for a wedding could have. In fact, it would be very difficult to imagine a wedding without flowers. Placed anywhere, flowers are lovely and the sight of them gives that fresh light feeling. Flowers in the color of the wedding theme can complete a romantic wedding scene.

Pink and purple wedding flowers could be used as a center piece for either a pick or lavender covered table. In using purple, the rich tones could be maximized by mixing deeper shades with lighter shades.  Purple and pink are the often used because the colors work together well. You can use color coordinated accents to compliment whatever shade of purple you choose. Then carry that combination throughout every detail of your decor.

Dark purple wedding flowers or flowers in the shade of plum and deeper hues may be used to dramatize lighter shades. Like a center piece of all dark purple flowers with a lighter color of violet candle in the center as accent.

The bride could also opt for a lovely bouquet in the color of mixed purple and pink flowers or a bouquet of flowers made with the flowers used for  the décor. The wedding cake may also be decorated in the same color as of the brides bouquet. Having color coordination between the brides bouquet, the cake and the overall décor would produce that “together” look and echo appeal.

It is best to always check for availability before deciding the flowers to be used. Some flowers are not available during certain seasons and some flowers have to be transported and needs some time before they become available. Wedding florists and providers have a list of available flowers for the time and season of the wedding.

Among the favorites of the purple flowers are Freesias. Freesias are favored for the aroma and its beauty. Tulips are great as bouquet while Gladiolis are magnificent center pieces. Purple orchids are expensive but they add to the delicate and royal to a purple wedding. Cone flower, Sweet pea, Iris, Aster, Impatients, Lilac and Bachelor Button are great choices for wedding décor and flower arrangement.
