Wedding are all about details. One not so little detail is choosing the color of your wedding shoes. While traditionally brides have chosen ivory wedding shoes, many brides now are going for different colors, including red satin shoes or at least other colors beside white and ivory.
Here are some tips you can consider in choosing your wedding shoe color.
What is your wedding color theme? You’ll want your shoes to relate to that color, and certainly not clash. You might find a beautiful shoe that fits great and that is a great price that you would like to wear – but if it clashes, it is no bargain at any price. You could choose the same color as your wedding flowers or the color of your bridesmaid’s dresses. At least, you could have it coordinate with that color.
Remember the “something blue” wedding tradition? Haven’t picked something yet? You know often when brides do find something blue, they and only a few others may know what it is. But if you wore blue wedding shoes, everybody could see! These shoes would stand out and get noticed whereas often people might not even pay much attention to the bride’s shoes. Remember it’s about details. And the color blue could add a very nice detail that makes a difference in the overall look.
If you really want to get noticed and stand out from the average bride, then get yourself a pair of red wedding shoes. You might think red is too much, but as long as your dress covers your shoes, they won’t be noticed during the wedding ceremony. You wouldn’t want your shoes to become a distraction to the ceremony. However, later during the reception, while dancing and so forth, your wedding guests would get a chance to see those stunning red shoes.
If are you one of those practical thinking brides, see if you find a pair of shoes for your wedding that you will be able to wear with other outfits long after the wedding. Why buy a pair of shoes you will only wear one time? White wedding shoes just aren’t very practical for normal day to day dress. Go ahead and get a nice pair of shoes, and it’ll be a lot easier to sell your future hubby on what they cost when he knows you can use them again and again.
